Amir ShayestehAmir Shayesteh
Chips: 2,731,000
Lifetime Winnings: $0
WPT Final Tables: 0
Odds-to-win: 3.25/1

One of two rookies at the table, Shayesteh has nearly 31 per cent of the chips in play. His chip stack might be the only reason to bet on the WPT rookie. Since March Madness is underway and people like betting on Cinderella stories, maybe throwing down on Amir might not be a bad idea. Only thing he’s got to worry about is Ted Forrest pushing him around.

Ted Forrest

Ted Forrest
Chips: 2,006,000
Lifetime Winnings: $3,100,000
WPT Final Tables: 3
Odds-to-win: 4.5/1

Ted Forrest should be the favorite at this table. When playing his A game Forrest is one of the best players in the world and regularly plays in the Big Game. With a WPT rookie in directly in front of him and directly behind him he has to be drooling over the available chips. Forrest should be active and aggressive early. At the very least Forrest should get to heads-up and then have enough room to outplay his opponent.

Vincent ShawVincent Shaw
Chips: 1,518,000
Lifetime Winnings: $0
WPT Final Tables: 0
Odds-to-win: 6/1

Shaw is the other virgin at this table. He has a slight lead on James Van Alstyne, but has Ted Forrest to worry about. If Shaw can avoid tangling early with Forrest he may be able to navigate the rest of the table and accumlate some more chips. With Bill Edler as the short stack his opportunity to stack a player might comer earlier than expected, but with little or no experience it would be hard to bet on him to win it.

James Van AlstyneJames Van Alstyne
Chips: 1,139,000
Lifetime Winnings: $2,200,00
WPT Final Tables: 1
Odds-to-win: 8/1

In 2006 Van Alstyne found himself at the WPT Championship final table, so he’s no stranger to the lights and cameras and distractions of the TV table. He’s not exactly rolling in it though with only 13 per cent of the available chips. He may look to take advantage of Shayesteh and Shaw, the two rookies, to increase his chip stack while doing everything he can to avoid Forrest and the increasingly-desperate JJ Liu and Bill Edler.

JJ LiuJJ Liu
Chips: 966,000
Lifetime Winnings: $800,000
WPT Final Tables: 1
Odds-to-win: 9.5/1

The guys might describe Liu as “hot enough to be the favorite on Jamie Gold’s soon to be developed Hottest Mom In America" but we’ll just describe her as a lady that married Dan Alspach and spent the better part of yesterday proudly wearing her “I eliminated David Williams” shirt that comes with the $5,000 bounty. Liu has been to a WPT final table and has absolutely no fear about putting her chips in the pot. As the short stack that’s not a bad mentality. She might be the dark horse here.

Bill EdlerBill Edler
Chips: 638,000
Lifetime Winnings: $1,150,000
WPT Final Tables: 0
Odds-to-win: 14/1

Bill Edler has yet to be at a WPT final table, but he’s certainly a well-accomplished and well-travelled rounder. This is his third consecutive World Poker Tour cash and he did just finish 7th at the LA Poker Classic last month. Unfortunately for Edler he starts the day as the short stack and will have to find a way to double up early. He’s known for patient play but that certainly won’t serve him well today. He may find a willing dance partner in JJ Liu who’s also looking for chips but he may be better served in attacking the rookies.

2007 World Series of Poker
Jeffrey Pollack

WPT Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) creates branded entertainment and consumer products driven by the development, production and marketing of televised programming based on gaming themes. The Company develops and owns the World Poker Tour (WPT), television series, based on a series of high-stakes poker tournaments, airs in the United States on the Travel Channel and in more than 140 territories globally. The Company has four operating units: WPT Studios, WPT Consumer Products, WPT Corporate Alliances and WPT Online Gaming. The Company licenses its brand to companies in the business of poker equipment and instruction, apparel, publishing, electronic and wireless entertainment, DVD/home entertainment, casino games, and giftware. On February 3, 2005, the Company entered into an agreement with WagerWorks to develop a WPT-branded real-money gaming Website.

WPT Studios

WPTE's multi-media entertainment division generates revenue through the domestic and international licensing of broadcast and telecast rights and through casino host fees. The Company licenses the WPT series to the Travel Channel, L.L.C. (TRV) for telecast in the United States under an exclusive license agreement. The Company also has license agreements for the distribution of its World Poker Tour episodes in over 140 territories. In addition, the Company signed a license agreement with TRV to telecast its new Professional Poker Tour (PPT), series. The Company also collects annual host fees from the member casinos that host World Poker Tour events.

WPTE has entered into a series of agreements with TRV for the United States distribution of the WPT television series (the WPT Agreements). For each season covered by the WPT Agreements and related options, TRV has rights to exhibit the episodes in that season an unlimited number of times on its television network (or any other television network owned by Discovery Communications) in the United States for four years (three years for the episodes in Season One). The Company has produced three complete seasons of the World Poker Tour series under the WPT Agreements, and season four is in production. TRV also has options to license the three seasons (Seasons Five through Seven).

Under the WPT Agreements, TRV pays fixed license fees for each episode the Company produces, which are payable at various times during the pre-production, production and post-production process and are recognized upon TRV's receipt and acceptance of the completed episode.

WPTE has also entered into an agreement with TRV for the United States distribution of the PPT television series. Similar to the WPT Agreements and related options, TRV has rights to exhibit the PPT episodes in that season an unlimited number of times on its television network (or any other television network owned by Discovery Communications) in the United States for four years. The Company is in production on Season One of the PPT, and TRV has options to license the three seasons (Seasons Two through Four).

WPT Consumer Products

WPT Consumer Products, WPTE's branded consumer products division, generates revenues principally through royalties from the licensing of its brand to companies seeking to use the World Poker Tour brand and logo in the retail sales of their consumer products. In addition, this business unit generates revenue from direct sales of company-produced branded merchandise. The Company also generates revenues from existing licensees, including US Playing Card, mForma, Jakks Pacific, and MDI. The Company also has a number of licensees that are developing new licensed products including slot machines from IGT, and interactive television games from Pixel Play.

WPT Corporate Alliances

WPT Corporate Alliances, WPTE's sponsorship and event management division, generates revenue through corporate sponsorship and management of televised and live events. The Company's sponsorship program uses the professional sports model as a method to foster entitlement sponsorship opportunities and naming rights to major corporations. Anheuser-Busch has been the source of revenues through its sponsorship of Seasons Two and Three of the World Poker Tour series on TRV. During the fiscal year ended January 1, 2006, Anheuser-Busch announced that its sponsorship in Season Four will now feature its brand, Budweiser, as the official beer of the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel.

WPT Online Gaming

WPT Online Gaming, WPTE's online poker and casino gaming division, generates revenue through its agreement with WagerWorks, Inc. (WagerWorks) pursuant to which the Company granted to WagerWorks a license to utilize the WPT brand to create a WPT-branded online gaming website, WPTonline.com, which features an online poker room and an online casino with a selection of slots and table games. Although any Internet user can access WPTonline.com via the World Wide Web, the website does not permit bets to be made from players in the United States and other restricted jurisdictions.

WPTE competes with Harrah and Fox.

Extrait : "Jamie always intended on sharing his winnings with Crispin," the statement says. "Jamie and Crispin are happy to report they have fully settled this matter. They are pleased to be closing this chapter and look forward to continued success."

Jackpot Leyser !!!!

Article du 29/08/06

Bon, Jamie Gold a réussi à battre 8 773 joueurs et a gagné

12 000 000$...

Bluff Power Ranking:  722
Earnings:  $35,135

Event Date Place Winnings
2006 Festa Al Lago V
WPT Championship No-Limit Hold'em
$10,000 buy-in 10/15/2006 66th $12,525
2005/2006 WSOP Circuit Event - Harrah's New Orleans
No-Limit Hold'em Championship
$10,000 buy-in
